Following the major economic and health crisis that Lebanon is going through today, the Soura Association in partnership with the BCP (Beirut Center of Photography, Lebanon) is creating the first scholarship intended to finance the studies of a student wishing to broaden his or her skills in Europe.

The first winner is the young photographer Tarek Haddad, holder of a Bachelor’s degree in photography obtained at NDU – Lebanon.

The grant is intended to finance his 3-year master’s degree at the Ecole Supérieure de Photographie d’Arles, where he brilliantly passed the competition.

The patron of this first edition is the French photographer Aurélie Pétrel.

Tarek Haddad is a Lebanese photographer whose work focuses on human behaviour, intimate relationships and contemporary social dynamics.

His latest projects question the relationship between man and nature and our disconnection from it.

His work has already been shown in several exhibitions in Beirut. He also had the opportunity to participate in a workshop with the artist Halida Boughriet and was admitted in residence in the framework of the “SMArt” program in Switzerland.
